Now Recruiting Volunteer Men!

Central Missouri Community Action is proud to announce the 100 Man Lunch, to be held on March 11th in Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau, and Osage counties!

On Thursday March 11th, CMCA Head Start, a comprehensive child care program, will host its Sixth Annual 100-Man Lunch event throughout Central Missouri. The event was established in 2004 to celebrate the importance of male role models in the lives of children. Because male involvement is linked to the success of pre-school age children, fathers, grandfathers, and uncles are being invited to have lunch with their young family members to celebrate the influence they have had on their children. CMCA is also encouraging the participation of community leaders to provide support to the young children that may not have a positive male role model that can attend. These leaders are also invited to inspire all of our children to reach their full potential.

This event brings together men from a variety of professions including, politicians, policemen, firemen, doctors, teachers, and athletes. “Last year over 500 men ate lunch with our kids. Our goal is to have one male participant per child. We serve 575 children throughout our service area, so we need the support of our communities,” says Mernell King, Early Education Director for CMCA. Please contact Head Start to inspire a child and reserve a plate today.
